The Statesville Regional Airport (KSVH) is a General Aviation (GA) airport that serves the residents of Iredell County and of the general area. There are corporate tenants as well as private tenants located on the field. The fixed base operator (FBO), Statesville Flying Service, provides opportunities for flight chartering and flight training to the general public. The FBO also provides aircraft maintenance and storage, car rental and fueling for the general public as well as transient traffic.

The airport lies on approximately 412 acres of land owned by the City of Statesville. The City of Statesville is fortunate to have a willing partner in Iredell County for the funding of the airport. The City and County have worked together for some time to fund projects at the airport. The most recent project (rehabilitation and strengthening of the runway, taxiways and apron) was funded primarily through federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants distributed by the NCDOT-Division of Aviation. The airport sponsor is required to provide a 10% local match for grants such as these. As stated earlier, Iredell County has been a willing partner in these projects by providing 50% of the 10% match.

Yes, the City of Statesville and the North Carolina Department of Transportation-Aviation Division continuously work together to update the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). These plans are used to determine state and federal funding for airport expansion and improvment of the airport.
