Planning Board
Meets 4th Tuesday of each month at City Hall in Council Chambers at 7 p.m.
Members appointed for 3-year terms by City Council (6) and County Commissioners (2)
Reviews and makes recommendations on planning policies, ordinances, and procedures; advises City Council on the means for carrying out these plans; considers Zoning Ordinance text changes, changes in the zoning designation of properties; major development proposals and major subdivisions of property.

The Human Relations Commission of Statesville exists to promote the right of every person in the community to live and work in peace and to be free of violence and intimidation by (1.) Promoting equality; (2.) Fostering communications among diverse groups (3.) Provide crisis intervention in potentially disruptive situations.
The Human Relations Commission of Statesville: (1) Sponsors periodic forums and discussion that address diversity; (2) Nominates people who have demonstrated a genuine respect for others as the “Best of Statesville”, an award presented by the Statesville City Council
