Currently, the Historic Properties and Community Appearance Commissions are seeking volunteers to serve.
Once you apply, the application is good and will be considered for a period of three years.
Background on the Historic Properties Commission:
- The commission is made up of nine members appointed by City Council.
- A majority of the members are to have demonstrated a special interest, experience or education in history, architecture, archaeology or other related fields.
- The members that serve on the board are to reside inside the territorial jurisdiction of the City; however we strive to obtain members who live within one of the four historic districts.
- A term, if appointed, is a 3 year term.
- A member is responsible for attending all meetings, held once a month on the fourth Thursday (except Nov and Dec, the meetings are on the third Thursday) at 7pm in the Old City Hall Council Chambers.
